♥ When passing through a mountain pass, a bedouin (villager) once came across an old man who was blind and who seemed to be afflicted with various ailments all over his body. It was clear that he was wasting away. He was even paralyzed and was constantly forced to remain in a seated position. The Bedouin could clearly hear him say, "All praise is for Allah, Who has kept me safe from ailments with which He has tested many among His creation; and He has indeed preferred me over many among those that He created."

"My brother!" exclaimed the bedouin. "What have you been saved from? By Allah, I think that you have been afflicted with every single kind of ailment!"

"Go away from me," said the old man, as he raised his head. "Do I not still have a tongue with which I can pronounce His Oneness, and with which I can remember Him every single moment? And do I not still have a heart with which I can know Him?"

These words of the old man were enough for the bedouin to repent to Allah for his sins and ask Him for forgiveness.

One day, a rich dad took his son on a trip. He wanted to show him how poor someone can be. They spent some time on the farm of a poor family. On the way back home, dad asked his son,
did you see how poor they are ?
What did you learn?
Son replied ...

We have one dog, they have four
We have a pool, they have rivers
We have lanterns at night, they have stars
We buy foods, they grow their
We have walls to protect us, they have friends.
We have encyclopedias, they have Qura'n.
Then he added; thanks dad for showing me how poor we are!

´'•.  It's not about money that makes us rich,
it's about simplicity and having "ALLAH Almighty" in our lives .•'´

  Why Do We Read Qura'an?
An old American Muslim lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Quran. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could.

One day the grandson asked, "Grandpa! I try to read the Quran just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Qur'an do?"

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, "Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water."

The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, "You'll have to move a little faster next time," and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead.

The old man said, "I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You're just not trying hard enough," and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.

At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the house. The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, "See Grandpa, it's useless!"

"So you think it is useless?" The old man said, "Look at the basket."

The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.

"Son, that's what happens when you read the Qur'an. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out. That is the work of Allah in our lives."

there was once snake catcher who once went to the mountains. due to the winter cold and heavy snow, many very big snakes lay motionless, as if they were dead the snake catcher picked up one of these seemingly lifeless snakes and took it to Baghdad, with the purpose of using it for a show. showing it off, he made big claims as to how he had brilliantly captured the snake. however, when the sun began to shine and its warmth cloaked the snake, the coldness in its body disappeared. the signs of life were soon apparent and when the snake began to move,
the snake catcher and all those around, fled.

our naf (self) is like that snake. with tazkyia (purification), mushaqqat (effort), our nafs becomes frozen. it appears to be dead. but give it a little heat from the fire of sin and it will bite again. a little exposure to some past sins and the nafs swings back to life.

we should not think that we have killed our nafs and thus become unmindful. yes, with some mujahadah (striving), suhbat (company) of the sheikh, tilawat (recitation) of the noble Qur'an, dzikrullah, following deen and shariah and in building up that contact and love for ALLAH Ta'ala and Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم, and the nafs can be frozen. however, a little taste of sin revives the evil nafs.♥
