a group of geography students studied the seven wonders of the world.
at the end of that session, the students were asked to list what they think were considered to be the present seven wonders of the world.
though there was some disagreement, the following got the most votes:
1) egypt’s great pyramids
2) taj mahal
3) grand canyon
4) panama canal
5) empire state building
6) st. peter’s basilica
7) china’s great wall
while gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student, a quiet girl, hadn’t turned in her paper yet. so she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list.
the quiet girl replied, “yes, a little. i couldn’t quite make up my mind because there were so many.”
the teacher said, “well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help.”
the girl hesitated, then read, “i think the real seven wonders of the world are:

1) to touch
2) to taste
3) to see
4) to hear
she hesitated a little more, and then
5) to feel
6) to laugh
7) and to love
then there was the room so full of silence it was deafening!

♥.¤ª"˜¨¯¨¨it is far too easy for us to look at the exploits of man and refer to them as “wonders” while we overlook all the Almighty ALLAH has done for us,
regarding them as merely “ordinary”.
May we be reminded today of those things which are truly wondrous that the Generous Creator ALLAH has given; that we take for granted ¸,ø¨¨"ª¤.

1) Rasulullah (SAW) said about Mu`aadh ibn Jabal: “Verily, when the people of knowledge will be present before their Lord, the Mighty and Sublime, Mu`aadh will be one step ahead of them.” (Sahih, Ibn Sa`d, Abû Nu aim, at-Tabarâni)

2) Ibn Ma`ood said, “Mu`aadh ibn Jabal (RA) , was indeed an excellent model for the believers, he was devoutly obedient to his Lord, and a sincere and righteous believer.”

3) Mu`aadh ibn Jabal (RA) once said to his son, “My dear son, when you stand up in prayers, do so as a departing person bidding farewell to this world, and do not assume that you will have another chance to thus pray again. My dear son, understand that a believer dies ranking in-between two deeds, one he offers for his present day, wherein he will immediately garner its blessings, and the second deed he offers towards the Day of Resurrection, and that is when he will reap its ultimate benefits.”

4) Mu`aadh ibn Jabal (RA) said, “Learn whatever knowledge you wish to acquire, and Allah will not reward you unless you act upon what you have learned.”

5) Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Hambal narrated that a man asked Mu`aadh ibn Jabal, (RA): “Teach me something.” Mu`aadh (RA) replied: “Would you obey me?” The man humbly replied: “I am most eager to obey you.”Mu`aadh (RA) then instructed the man, “Fast and pray regularly, earn your livelihood in a lawful way, and do not err in that regard. Strive not to die except in Islam, and beware not to become liable before the divine justice regarding the grievance of someone with whom you have dealt unjustly.”

6) Al-Aswad bin Hilal said, “We were walking with Mu`aadh (RA), when he suddenly turned to us and said, ‘Let us sit here for an hour and reconfirm our faith.”

7) Rasulullah (SAW), also said about Mu`aadh (RA): “…the most knowledgeable of them (my Ummah) about the lawful and the prohibited is Mu`aadh bin Jabal…” (At-Tirmidhi)

8) Ibn Taimiyyah writes in al-Wasiyyat: “Part of Mu`aadh(RA) excellence further is that Rasulullah (SAW), sent him to the people of Yemen as a preacher on his behalf, a caller, a teacher of understanding in the Deen, a giver of religious verdicts, and a judge.”

9) This is Mu`aadh (RA) to whom Rasulullah (SAW) said: “O Mu`aadh! By Allah, truly I love you.” (Abû Dawud)

10) Abû Nu`aim reports some sayings of Mu`aadh himself about the excellence of knowledge, among which we find the following:

a) “Knowledge is a comforting friend in times of loneliness, it is the best companion during travels, and it is the inner friend who speaks to you in your privacy. Knowledge is the discerning proof of what is right and what is wrong, and it is the positive force that will help you surmount the trials of comfort, as well as those of hardships. Knowledge is your most powerful sword against your enemy, and finally, it is your most dignifying raiment in the company of your close companions.”

b) “Through knowledge, Allah, blessed be His Name, raises some people in rank, and He makes them leaders in righteousness and models in morality. The vestige of their faith is avidly sought, their deeds are emulated perceptively, and people will seek and sanction their opinions solicitously and unequivocally. The heavenly angels seek their company and anoint them with their wings, every fresh or withered life they pass by implore Almighty Allah to forgive them their sins, even the fish in the oceans, the beasts of the lands and every bird of prey and migratory bird pray and solicit the mercy of Almighty Allah on their behalf. This is because knowledge revives the dead hearts and drives them out of darkness into light, and because knowledge is the light of the inner eyes that cures one’s blindness and restores his inner sight.”

♥ a woman came out of her house and saw three old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. she did not recognize them. she said "i don't think i know you, but you must be hungry. please come in and have something to eat." "is the man of the house home?", they asked.
"No", she replied. "He's out."
"then we cannot come in", they replied.

in the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened.
"go tell them i am home and invite them in!"
the woman went out and invited the men in.
"we do not go into a house together," they replied.
"why is that?" she asked.
one of the old men explained: "his name is wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "he is Success, and i am Love." then he added, "now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home?"

the woman went in and told her husband what was said. her husband was overjoyed. "how nice!", he said. "since that is the case, let us invite wealth. let him come and fill our home with wealth!"
his wife disagreed. "my dear, why don't we invite success?"
their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. she jumped in with her own suggestion: "would it not be better to invite love? our home will then be filled with love!"
"let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife.

"go out and invite love to be our guest."
the woman went out and asked the three old men, "which one of you is love? please come in and be our guest."
love got up and started walking toward the house. the other two old men also got up and followed him. surprised, the lady asked wealth and success: "i only invited love, why are you coming in?"
the old men replied together: "if you had invited wealth or success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited love, wherever he goes, we go with him. wherever there is love, there is also wealth and success!!!" ♥
